Deep Purple is a British rock band, formed in 1968 known worldwide thanks to the famous hit 'Smoke On The Water.' This quintet has been one of the figureheads of the movement hard rock, like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Indeed, these three groups are considered the "founding fathers" of hard rock.
